The Opportunity

Brio Resource Group is partnering with a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company to identify a Director, DMPK & ADME.

This scientific leadership position will define and execute drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and ADME strategies supporting discovery, candidate selection, IND-enabling development, and clinical advancement. The successful candidate will translate complex disposition and exposure data into practical recommendations regarding compound selection, dosing, drug-interaction risk, and overall development strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute integrated in vitro and in vivo ADME, DMPK, and pharmacokinetic strategies.
  • Provide DMPK leadership from target and lead optimization through development-candidate nomination and IND-enabling studies.
  • Interpret absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, exposure, transport, and drug-interaction data.
  • Evaluate compound properties and translate findings into recommendations on candidate selection, dosing, scheduling, and development risk.
  • Apply PK/PD, exposure-response, modeling, and translational approaches to support program decisions.
  • Partner with Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Clinical Pharmacology, CMC, and Clinical Development.
  • Develop DMPK study plans and contribute to protocols, investigator brochures, regulatory submissions, and responses to health authorities.
  • Select and manage CROs, bioanalytical laboratories, consultants, and other external scientific partners.
  • Ensure study quality, data integrity, appropriate documentation, budget management, and timely execution.
  • Present DMPK findings and recommendations to project teams, governance committees, and senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent advanced degree in pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical sciences, drug metabolism, pharmacology, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Significant biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience leading DMPK and ADME activities.
  • Deep expertise in pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, bioanalysis, transporters, DDIs, and exposure-response relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting discovery programs, candidate selection, and IND-enabling development.
  • Ability to integrate ADME findings with pharmacology, toxicology, safety, formulation, and clinical-development considerations.
  • Experience applying translational PK, PK/PD modeling, or quantitative approaches to dose prediction and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory expectations and DMPK contributions to INDs and other development documents.
  • Experience managing CROs, external laboratories, study budgets, timelines, and scientific deliverables.
  • Strong cross-functional communication, scientific judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to operate strategically and hands-on within a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
