The field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will proactively engage in high level, scientific product and disease state discussions to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with leading scientific experts, prominent healthcare professionals, and key decision makers within the therapeutic areas of Respiratory / Endocrine/Gastro/Infectious Disease. The MSL will also provide medical support for speaker meetings, advisory boards, internal trainings, and medical meetings. The MSL will provide scientific exchange to Academic Medical Centers, managed markets and health care organizations. Provide scientific exchange to Centers of Excellence, Academic Medical Centers, payors, commercial managed markets and related health care organizations.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate high scientific knowledge in the supported therapeutic areas to include a thorough understanding of competitor data.
  • Deemed the local medical and scientific resource for product planning, insight and intelligence.
  • Support research and development as requested by Research & Development, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs.
  • May serve as the scientific advisor in evaluating new products under consideration for enhancement or explanation and develop territory medical action plans.
  • Ensure that daily activity is recorded and provide regular feedback to External Medical Affairs (EMA) and the team to support development of the Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Provide scientific product and disease state training using approved materials to members of the sales organization to include trainers, management, and business directors.
  • Gather and provide competitive intelligence by attending local, regional and national medical meetings and Continuing Medical Education programs.
Qualifications:
This position requires an advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) and broad based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge.
